Programme details:

A 7-day, 7-night programme, introducing you to the Bedouin and Fishing communities of the Musandam peninsula, while cruising the Fjords in a traditional Dhow. This includes a unique visit to Kumzar on Day 4, which is the biggest Bedouin village in Musandam.

Day 1 - Sat - Welcome to Dubai

Arrival at Dubai International Airport, meet & assist and transfer to your Hotel in Dubai.

Day 2 - Sun - Dubai to Khasab

After breakfast at the hotel, we travel to Khasab by road, via Ras Al Khaima.
Check in at the hotel and refresh. In the afternoon, there is a tour of Khasab.
Khasab Fort dates from the 17th century, when the Portuguese occupied the region and used Khasab as a supply base. Khasab Harbour continues to play an important role just as it did when, in the 17th century, the Portuguese built the nearby fort. Then as now, the Musandam region was the realm of the Shihuh tribe, whose origins are thought to be in Yemen. Khasab provides a place for them and the Kamazirah people of the north, to trade, buy provisions and fish in the hot summer months.

Day 3 - Mon - Fjords of Musandam

Today, you take breakfast at the hotel, before boarding a traditional Omani Dhow and beginning a cruise into the spectacular Fjords of Musandam. We pass by small isolated fishing villages and stop at one where we arrange to fish with the local people and learn about their lifestyle and beliefs.
We take lunch at a local house inside the fjords. This will offer a chance to interact with the people and taste the Arabic food. During the day, we stop for swimming and snorkelling, explore Telegraph Island and possibly see dolphins.
The evening is spent on board the Dhow and dinner and overnight is on the Dhow anchored in Khawr Ash sham (sleeping on deck).

Day 4 - Tues - Meet the fishing people of the Musandam

You wake up to breakfast on board the Dhow. We then cruise to Gubb Ali and Kumzar and go fishing with local people. Kumzar is the biggest Bedouin village in Musandam, speaking a dialect mixed with Farsi, Urdu, English, and Arabic. It is situated at the northern tip of Musandam Peninsula and opening to the Strait of Hormuz. This is a hard fishing community. Here, we will look to visit the village, meet the Bedouin and speak to them about the life they live. There is no land approach and it will be a unique experience.
Dinner and overnight on Dhow.

Day 5 - Wed - Dhow cruising

After breakfast, we cruise back to Khasab, visiting and seeing places along the way.

Day 6 - Thu - Visit the Mountain Bedouin

Breakfast at the hotel and we then travel by road to Jebel Harim in the Mountains, where we stop at Sayah Village a Bedouin village situated at 1100m. It is an isolated village with a few families still living there. We will visit one of the houses, meet the Bedouin people and get a small glimpse of their lifestyle.
We then transfer on to Dubai and stay overnight at your chosen Hotel in Dubai.

Day 7 - Fri - At leisure

Breakfast at the hotel and then a day at leisure.
Overnight at your chosen Hotel in Dubai.

Day 8 - Sat - Departure

Transfer to the airport for the flight home.
