Day 2 – Alta and Igloo Hotel

You have the morning and early afternoon to enjoy Alta. Try Alta Museum which is located in Hjemmeluft, near the biggest concentration of rock carvings, for which Alta is known. In the winter, the area is covered in snow, so it is only possible to see the exhibitions inside the museum.

17:00 Pick up and transfer to the Igloo Hotel
Overnight in the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel

Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel sleeps around 80, with suites, an ice bar and several lounges.
All exterior and interior is made from snow and ice: the rooms, beds, even the glasses in the bar! The hotel is decorated with ice sculptures - beautiful pieces of art created by talented sculptors - creating in harmony with the pure white snow a fairytale like atmosphere. The indoor temperature in the igloo hotel varies between -4 and -7 degrees Celsius. The restaurant, cloakroom, sauna and lounge are located in the heated services building beside the igloo hotel. A fantastic dinner is served in the restaurant during the visit, skillfully prepared using local ingredients by the "Norwegian chef of the year 2009". Before going to bed, enjoy the outdoor hot tub and sauna in Sorrisniva. Sit in the warm bubbles with a hat on your head and enjoy the relaxing and refreshing arctic air.
Maybe if you are lucky the Northern Lights will light up the sky above you.
