Programme details:

This is a 12-day, 11-night programme, giving you a greater experience of what Jordan can offer, but still with a unique Bedouin insight.

Day 1 – Sat - Welcome to Jordan

Evening arrival at Amman International Airport, where you will be met by your guide and transferred to your Hotel in Madaba, which is about 30 minutes drive and will be your base for the next day.
Overnight at the Mariam Hotel or equivalent.

Day 2 – Sun – Visit Madaba, Mount Nebo and the Dead Sea

In the morning you will be met at the Hotel and taken to see the Roman mosaics of Madaba. Best known for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, Madaba is home to the famous 6th century Mosaic Map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.

You will then visit Mount Nebo. According to the final chapter of Deuteronomy, Mount Nebo is where the Hebrew prophet Moses was given a view of the Promised Land that God was giving to the Hebrews. On the highest point of the mountain, Syagha, the remains of a church and monastery have been uncovered.

In the afternoon, you will travel to the Dead Sea. At 410 meters below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest place on earth. Jordan's Dead Sea coast is one of the most spectacular natural and spiritual landscapes in the world and it remains as enticing to international visitors today as it was to kings, emperors, traders, and prophets in antiquity. You then travel back to Madaba.

Day 3 – Mon – Madaba to Karak and Dana

Today, you will travel along the Kings Highway to Karak Castle, Dana Village and Nature Reserve.
More imposing than beautiful and a real "tourist trap", Karak Castle is nevertheless an impressive insight into the architectural military genius of the Crusaders. Then we travel on to Dana.
The visitor to this area will be awed by the beauty of the Rummana Mountain, the mystery of the ancient archaeological ruins of Feinan, the timeless serenity of Dana Village and the grandeur of the red and white sandstone cliffs of Wadi Dana.
Arrive in Dana Natural Reserve and camping there.
You will camp overnight in Dana.

Day 4 – Tues – Dana to Feinan

After breakfast we will spend the day walking from Dana to Feinan. There, your guides will build the big Bedouin tent for you to relax in and will offer you tea whilst they prepare the fire. Cooking over the open fire, you will be offered a traditional meal with Arabic coffee. Your bags will be taken on ahead and you can travel light with a small rucksack for your personal belongings.
You will sleep then sleep in small tents within the camp area at Feinan.

Day 5 – Wed – Feinan to Wadi Araba

Today, we will visit Feinan, Kaper Village, the Danas River and arrive at the desert of Wadi Araba.
The group will camp there with in company of a Bedouin family. You will get to understand and experience (even for a short time) their life, education, traditions, customs, beliefs and their proud history.
You will camp overnight in Wadi Araba.

Day 6 – Thu – Wadi Araba to Little Petra

From the dunes of Wadi Araba, we will travel to Wadi Namalΰ and then onto Little Petra.

We can also offer horse riding in the desert on Arab stock horses - contact us for more information and a tailored experience.

Overnight in Wadi Musa at a 3* or 4* hotel.

Day 7 – Fri – Visit Petra

Petra is now one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. There is little you can say about Petra other than it must be seen. Perhaps one of the surprising things to the new visitor is the scale of the site and the depth of history from its Nabataean origins.

You will have a full day visit to Petra, accompanied by both a Historical guide and your Bedouin guide. You can walk through the Siq or use the donkey or camel transport to see the best places of the site - the Treasury, the Nabataean Theatre, the Roman Colonnaded Street and the impressive Monastery.

If you are feeling fit, your Bedouin guide will take you to the places the Bedouin enjoy, the High Place of Sacrifice and the peak overlooking the Treasury.See the video below for a short taste of our unique Bedouin insight.

At the end of the day, you will enjoy a Turkish bath and rest at your hotel. There may also be an option to view Petra by night.

Overnight in Wadi Musa at a 3* or 4* hotel.

Day 8 – Sat – Petra to Wadi Rum

Today we travel by vehicle from Petra to Wadi Rum, where you can take a short camel ride in the desert.

The moonlike landscape of Wadi Rum is unique in the world. The desert of Rum is dotted with massive mountains, coloured in shades of red, yellow, and orange. This is a place where you can become one with nature, where visitors are humbled by the towering mountains and overwhelmed by the serenity and quiet ambiance of this magnificent place.

Day 9 – Sun – Wadi Rum

Today, we offer a Jeep tour in Wadi Rum to see more of the area and its history. Our Bedouin colleagues will give you their insight into living in this area.

Day 10 – Mon – Wadi Rum to Aqaba

We then drive to Aqaba, where you have a free day to enjoy the beach or go shopping.

Aqaba's long history dates back to pre-biblical times, when it was known as Ayla. According to the Bible's Old Testament, King Solomon built a Naval base at Ezion Geber, just 3 kilometres from where the modern town of Aqaba stands today.

But perhaps Aqaba's greatest asset is the Red Sea itself. Here you can experience some of the best snorkeling and diving in the world.
Overnight in Aqaba at a 3* or 4* hotel.

Day 11 – Tue – Aqaba to Amman

You will leave Aqaba after lunchtime and travel to Amman, where you will arrive at early evening. After checking into your hotel and freshening up, you are free to explore Amman at your leisure.
Spend the night in your Amman Hotel.

Day 12 – Wed – Departure

Today we will transfer you to the airport for an early morning departure.
